The "Elle" star is sharing the beauty tips she learned from her time playing one of Hollywood's favorite blonds.
Lexi Minetree is taking some beauty cues from her character Elle Woods. Playing a young Elle in the eponymous “Legally Blonde” prequel series for Amazon, Minetree attended Tuesday night’s WWD Honors where the 25-year-old actress shared the lessons she’s learned from playing the iconic role first embodied by Reese Witherspoon.
The biggest beauty tip she learned playing the beloved sorority girl turned lawyer? To let the outfit “do the talking.” “[Elle] actually is very minimalist with her makeup,” Minetree explained to WWD on the red carpet, adding that she liked the method of keeping the focus on the fashion.
“Look here. Look at this bright red,” she added, gesturing to the vintage floor-length red Givenchy gown she wore on the red carpet. “Don’t look here,” she finished, referring to her face, where she sported loose blond ringlets, pink blush on the apples of her cheeks and pink lipstick. Black eyeliner appeared across her eyelids, setting off her blue eyes.
Whichever tips Minetree has been picking up from Elle certainly seem to work in her favor, down to matching the pace of her fictional counterpart. While the character is happy to take her own sweet time getting ready, Minetree has attempted to speed things up.
“I actually got a time management coach to help me out. I said ‘Fix me,'” Minetree revealed, setting it for 20 minutes, assuming it was all the time she needed to get ready.
