World of Warcraft players are not happy with some player housing items themed around the Kul Tiran playable character race ending up on the game's microtransaction store, as the release contradicted a previous statement from Blizzard about the matter. As of this writing, the World of Warcraft player housing items in question are still available for a combined $35.
World of Warcraft is getting a pricey new release in 2027, coming in at a massive $395.
Although Blizzard previously stated that any World of Warcraft player housing items sold for real money would not be tied to player character races or fantasies, that is no longer the case. On October 26, Blizzard released the Grimtide Decor Pack and Haunted Grimtide Estate for 1,000 and 2,500 Hearthsteel, respectively. Given that 100 Hearthsteel equals $1, WoW players must spend a combined $35 if they want both housing item packs. Each pack is themed on the Kul Tiran character race first introduced in the Battle for Azeroth expansion, with homages to piracy and Lovecraftian motifs in the design. Content creator Michael "Bellular" Bell called out Blizzard on Twitter by pointing out that the Kul Tiran housing items in question went against Blizzard's principles on selling housing items.
A dark detective thriller where folklore is real, violence is chilling, and every choice has consequences.
