Dakota Johnson Just Returned to the Sheer Dress and Lingerie Combo Trend

The actress wore a sheer cream dress with black undergarments to the London premiere of "Verity."

Dakota Johnson returned to her sheer dressing with bold undergarments for the London premiere of “Verity” at Curzon Mayfair on Thursday night.

Johnson wore a creamy gown crafted with a delicate lace floral fabric. The Colleen Allen maxidress featured a plunging scoop neckline with ruffles and a streamlined silhouette. Beneath the dress, Johnson’s black Fleur du Mal bra and underwear peeked through.

It’s a style the actress has worn before. Roughly one year ago, the “Materialists” star sported the sheer dress x exposed underwear again at the Kering Foundation Fourth Annual Caring for Women Dinner. Wearing a design by Gucci, Johnson’s dress included a sheer fabric with ornate botanical embroidery throughout.

A bustier-style bra and coordinated underwear were seen through the sheer fabric of the dress, which included a short train that trailed Johnson on the carpet. Despite going roughly one year since her last high-profile sheer dress and undergarments red carpet look, Johnson is now in good company when it comes to styling the trend for major occasions.

Hot on her “Sense & Sensibility” press tour, Daisy Edgar-Jones attended the Everyman x Soundtracking special screening and Q&A of the film on Sept. 16 sporting a design from Shushu Tong’s spring 2026 collection.

A black midi dress with short sleeves, a rounded neckline and a bevy of botanicals created the shape of her dress for the red carpet occasion. Beneath the garment, Edgar-Jones wore a coordinated pair of bubblegum-pink underwear.
