This is the version I sent back, with the subhead restored to “It’s about more than location and expansion.” It’s clean. A few small things I’d still tighten:
After 15 years in Anaheim, VidCon is getting a makeover along with a new home.
Informa, which owns VidCon, has announced VidCon x LIONS Creators in collaboration with LIONS, the organization behind the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. The aim is to put creators closer to the brands, advertisers and marketers who want to work with them.
Starting in 2027, VidCon leaves Anaheim. The rebranded VidCon x LIONS Creators becomes part of a new festival called Insight to Impact, an umbrella event pulling together The Market Research Event, Content Marketing World and LIONS programs. Insight to Impact debuts in Denver in October 2026 before the whole festival moves to Nashville in 2027.
The move also fixes a longstanding scheduling problem. As Tubefilter notes in its report on the announcement, VidCon and Cannes Lions have typically landed around the same time, forcing creators, speakers and brand teams to pick one.
Folding the two into a larger ecosystem should give creators more chances to meet brands and industry professionals. It also puts VidCon’s creator-to-creator and fan connections in front of people who never made it to Anaheim.
That says something about where the creator economy is heading. Creators aren’t only building audiences now. They’re becoming central to how brands market, advertise and reach those audiences in the first place.
For anyone who thinks of VidCon as an annual Anaheim tradition, this will take some getting used to.
