The platform has split monetisation into two streams: Super Fan for live creators at $9.99 monthly, and Subscription for non-live content. Existing subscribers on lower tiers face a pricing jump, and creators must rethink what sustains a monthly commitment.
TikTok replaced TikTok Live Subscriptions with a new "Fan Club" feature, introducing Super Fan as an upgrade to the previous LIVE Subscription program. The shift separates creator monetisation into two distinct products: Super Fan, exclusive to TikTok LIVE, and Subscription, focused on non-LIVE creator content.
The changes took effect on September 15, 2025, and the consequences for live creators are sharper than the platform's phrasing suggests. All LIVE access moved to the $9.99 Super Fan plan, replacing lower-tier subscriptions, with existing subscribers paying under $10 given a three-month grace period before needing to upgrade to keep LIVE access. That grace period has now expired for most creators, meaning anyone who was charging less than ten dollars has either lost subscribers or converted them at a higher price point than the relationship may have originally warranted.
A Super Fan gets automatic Fan Club membership, a permanent Super Fan badge, faster Fan Club progression and access to extra LIVE features including exclusive LIVEs, Super Fan-only comments, a private fan space and special Gifts. 99 USD per month, fans can immediately increase their Fan Club level, and new fans can start at level 10 right away.
