There’s Footage Running Around That Might Be A First Look At A Persona 1 Remake

We now have an idea of what a Revelations: Persona remake could look like. There’s a video being passed around on the gaming leaks and rumors subreddit that purportedly contains footage of the first Persona game after it’s been hit with the Atlus remake-ification beam. It’s a short video, entirely in Japanese, that seems to depict a gaggle of teenagers trying to escape what looks like a haunted hospital.

As the main character (referred to as “boy with earring”) turns a corner, he’s attacked by a monster and the video cuts to a battle sequence. Surprisingly, it looks like the protagonist from Persona 2, Tatsuya Suou, makes an appearance in the battle, which also features a character who looks like Eriko Kirishima. Combat itself includes a highly stylized UI centered on the attacking character with options that include “persona,” “gun,” “sword,” “item,” and “defend,” as well as a turn order list and other info.

There’s no confirmation that this is real footage from a P1 remake and as of publication time, the Reddit thread and the page where the video link is hosted have not yet been subject to any takedown notices. There’s speculation this video could be a mod or a project that was vibe-coded with AI, but comments throughout the Reddit thread say that if it is fake, it’s incredibly well-done. Some commenters, however, are too busy arguing about whether or not it’s a good thing this “remake” looks reminiscent of Persona 5 and the remakes of Persona 3-4 , and not more like the original Persona game its supposedly based on.
