Quick Share will soon work directly in Android and iOS apps

TL;DR Google will launch a Quick Share SDK for Android and iOS in the first half of 2027.

This will allow developers to embed peer-to-peer file sharing and Tap to Share inside of apps.

With this functionality, you’ll be able to share without having to bring up the share sheet and launch the full-screen Quick Share experience.

In case you didn’t know, Google recently held its Android Dev Summit . In addition to offering a few details about Android 18, it also announced some news related to Quick Share. The company will be launching an SDK that will make the file-sharing tool even more convenient than it currently is.

As the name suggests, Quick Share is a quick and fairly simple way to share files between two devices. While it works fine right now, it can always be better. Case in point, Google will release a Quick Share SDK in the first half of 2027 for both Android and iOS apps. This will let developers embed peer-to-peer file sharing and Tap to Share inside their apps.
