Dead by Daylight Fans Are Uninstalling the Game in Protest

Some Dead by Daylight players are expressing disappointment with developer Behaviour Interactive — and vowing to uninstall the game — after the studio appeared to show support for divisive streamer TheBurntPeanut.

During TheBurntPeanut's Halloween livestream, a Behaviour Interactive employee gifted the VTuber all available DLC for Dead by Daylight. Given the streamer's controversial nature, fans did not take this lightly. To show how displeased they were with the situation, some players uninstalled the game and requested a refund in protest.

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer survival game where a player takes on the role of a killer and tries to track down and eliminate survivors. It features an array of well-known characters from all sorts of horror franchises alongside original creations. Thousands of players logged in to play this Halloween weekend, including VTuber TheBurntPeanut. During the stream, he received all of Dead by Daylight's paid expansions in his inbox — a gift from someone at Behaviour Interactive.

TheBurntPeanut is a controversial streamer, so many fans were immediately unhappy to see Behaviour Interactive supporting him. Seeing this, Peanut offered to return the items; the employee responded, "We can take the heat! They are yours to keep." The way that they dismissed fans' reaction only made matters worse.

Players were particularly upset over the fact that many Dead by Daylight content creators have been waiting for a long time to get approved for the Creator Program. All while controversial streamers continue to get accepted and receive support from the developers.
