Carley spends her free time gaming with her husband, scoping out breweries and wineries, playing with her cat Momo, and writing self-indulgent fanfiction. She prefers lore-heavy RPGs and walking sims and has only played Dragon Age: Inquisition 14 times. Her favorite Final Fantasy game is all of them.
For decades, Sanrio has been beloved by fans of all ages around the world, and a collection of popular characters will soon appear in classical Japanese ukiyo-e paintings during a one-of-a-kind exhibition. Hello Kitty isn't the only one headed to the Gifu City Museum of History, as Kuromi, My Melody, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and others are traveling back in time, inviting curious guests to see Japanese art in a whole new way during this limited-time event.
2026 has seen plenty of Sanrio events and crossovers. Over the summer, the 'Hapindanbui Voyage Full-Power Summer 2026' event took over Tokyo's Solamachi area, with those visiting Skytree able to snag themed merch featuring Pochacco, Tuxedo Sam, Keroppi, Badtz-Maru, Hangyodon, and Ahironopekkle. Starting November 20, Cinnamoroll fans will begin flocking to Gallery AaMo in Tokyo Dome City for a limited-time event celebrating the adorable character, with themed food and a giant Cinnamoroll slide measuring almost 40 feet in length. Another bizarre collab is slated to start this week, and both history buffs and art connoisseurs will want to take notice.
The first details of the rumored upcoming LEGO Hello Kitty wave have just leaked online.
The Ukiyo-e Immersive Art Exhibition is headed to the Gifu City Museum of History starting November 6, and fans visiting the venue will be able to snag merchandise combining some of the most popular Sanrio characters with classical works of Japanese art.
