9/10 Open-World Game Inspired by Pokemon Coming to PS5 in November

PlayStation 5 is getting a brand-new cozy, open-world life sim called Ova Magica, a game that some people have described as Pokemon meets Harvest Moon. Alongside PlayStation 5, the game is also getting ports for Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Ova Magica has been available on Steam since July 2024, where over 91% of user reviews are positive.

Created by ClaudiaTheDev and Skinny Frog, Ova Magica is described as a blend of "farm-life simulation with creature-collecting JRPG gameplay." The developers also cite several sources of inspiration, including Story of Seasons, Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Monster Rancher, Digimon, and Pokemon. Pokemon, in particular, seems to have had a noticeable influence on the game, as Ova Magica features collectible creatures known as Blobs that share many similarities with Nintendo's pocket monsters.

PS5 players are getting a brand-new free-to-play open-world RPG for the holidays, set to officially release worldwide on December 14.

A new trailer has confirmed that Ova Magica will launch on PS5 on November 10. The game's PlayStation Store page is already live, allowing players to add it to their wishlists, though its price remains unconfirmed. For reference, Ova Magica's Steam version received a small price increase around the same time as its 1.0 release in May 2026 and now costs $29.99. And the PS5 version will likely carry the same price tag.

0 version introduced several improvements and new features, including the option to romance or marry NPCs and new mechanics for Blobs.
