Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham have worked together numerous times over the years, bringing us fun, action-packed flicks. The duo will soon be doing it again, not only in the upcoming Viva La Madness but also in Netflix's newly announced film, Dogfight.
We owe Guy Ritchie for bringing Jason Statham into the spotlight and giving him his first movie role in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (1998). Otherwise, who knows if he would have ever taken up acting or if he would have kept modeling and dancing in the background of strange music videos. Jason Statham only started acting in his 30s, but he's had a consistently active career since then. His filmography includes nearly 60 movies, and the number only keeps on growing.
Netflix wants more of Statham and Ritchie, so it's putting them together for a new feature film, Dogfight. The duo returns to the criminal underground of London for what Netflix describes as "an action-packed revenge thriller with a stylish twist" — a scenario that Statham is more than comfortable with at this point.
There is no concrete information about the movie's plot, but if we take a look at his filmography, Statham is likely to play a former soldier or police officer and avenge someone he's close to — a formula he's mastered in movies such as Mutiny (2026), The Beekeeper (2024), Wrath of Man (2021), and more. Guy Ritchie will direct, write, and produce Dogfight.
Filming for Dogfight will take place in the United Kingdom and is set to begin in 2027.
