Borderlands franchise crosses 100M units sold

2K and Gearbox Software announced that the Borderlands franchise officially crossed 100 million units sold.

In celebration of this milestone, titles across the Borderlands franchise are now on sale for a limited time to give both new and returning players the opportunity to experience this global, decade spanning phenomenon. See individual platform stores for details.

The most recent addition to this storied franchise, Borderlands 4, was released just over a year ago with a wealth of content introduced in its first 12 months, and, now with the conclusion of the Year 1 roadmap, Gearbox’s development team is hard at work on even more Borderlands 4 content for players in 2027. Additions over the past year include:

Moving forward, Weekly Activity refreshes and Community Challenges will continue. The team is constantly listening to community feedback, and they are exploring additional character arcs, storylines, and an exciting overall direction for the future of the franchise. Players are encouraged to share thoughts on social media and tune into the Gearbox Devcast.

Starting November 6th, Borderlands players will soon be participating in The Hunt. Earlier this year, this long-standing community fundraising event generated a record-breaking $118,995.80 USD to support St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in its mission to cure and treat childhood diseases. This time, we have a challenge: 2K Foundations and Gearbox will match every dollar donated to The Hunt up to the previous record amount, potentially raising over $230,000 for St. Jude.

Borderlands 4 is now available worldwide for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
