Bethesda Officially Confirms The Elder Scrolls 6 Name

Bethesda has finally revealed the name of the next Elder Scrolls game. The long-awaited RPG will be titled The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel. Just a few days ago, fans of the series started theorizing this would be the title and now it's confirmed. Todd Howard made the announcement in a video celebrating Bethesda Softworks' 40th anniversary.

While we still don't know much about the follow-up to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, the 40th anniversary video did hint at a setting for the next entry. Here's a quote shown after the game's logo reveal:

“The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.”

- Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell (4E 206)

The year mentioned in the quote — 206 of the Fourth Era — would place Sentinel five years after the events of Skyrim . Before the logo reveal, the short teaser shows a scroll buried underneath a sand dune. Unfortunately, Howard didn't share anything more substantial about the game, such as a full trailer or release date. It seems like it is still a long way off, despite having been initially revealed all the way back in 2018. In another piece of information that may turn you to dust, this month also marks 15 years since Skyrim was released. Let's hope that we won't be celebrating the game's 20th anniversary before we actually get our hands on Sentinel .
