Rockstar Games reveals exactly when GTA 6 fans can begin preloading the highly-anticipated open-world adventure
We're officially in the last stretch before the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on Nov. 19, and though it's closer than ever, for some, the wait has become all the more excruciating. The good news is that you can start planning to play GTA 6 the second it becomes available — and you can start those preparations earlier than anticipated.
The times vary slightly by platform. For PS5 users, preload starts at midnight local time on Tuesday, Nov. 10. For Xbox users, preload begins on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 12 a.m. GMT. You can buy the game from your platform's digital store or as a physical retail box containing a download code — which will be available at retailers beginning on Nov. 12.
For those who want to hold something in their hands, Rockstar says it will also be adding a printable version of the GTA 6 cover art poster and the Leonida map as a free digital donwload on the official site, beginning on Nov. 19. Alternatively, you can purchase an official two-sided poster with both of these visuals from Rockstar itself for $0.99.
To download GTA 6, you need to have at least 212 GB of free storage on your device. The game is hefty, so you might want to begin deciding what games you want to delete to make room for Jason and Lucia.
Just as users are gearing up for the biggest release of the year, so, too, are the console-makers.
