Financial institutions using Alkami Technology‘s digital banking platform and BioCatch‘s account takeover protection solution prevented more than $263m in fraudulent activity during 2025, highlighting the role of behavioural analytics in protecting digital banking accounts.
The results cover institutions accessing BioCatch through the Alkami Digital Banking Platform. The technology analyses behavioural patterns, device information and session activity in real time to identify potential account takeovers. By establishing a baseline of normal user behaviour, the system can flag unusual navigation, interaction patterns or transaction activity that may indicate a compromised account.
Each online banking session receives a risk score, which financial institutions use to determine an appropriate response. Banks and credit unions can set their own thresholds according to their risk tolerance and security requirements, allowing them to tailor interventions to their individual approaches to fraud prevention.
Two Alkami clients have reported specific results from using the technology. Gate City Bank, which integrates BioCatch through Alkami’s partner ecosystem, said it detected 97% of account takeover attempts and prevented $650,000 in fraud losses over a six-month period. Raiz Federal Credit Union reported preventing more than $286,000 in fraud during its first year using BioCatch alongside other security measures.
Alkami provides digital sales and service software for US banks and credit unions, bringing together customer onboarding, digital banking, data and marketing capabilities. Its products can operate independently or as part of a broader platform designed to help financial institutions attract customers, strengthen engagement and expand existing relationships.
BioCatch specialises in behavioural biometrics and fraud prevention, analysing human interactions to identify suspicious activity and potential financial crime.
