When it seems like the price of everything continues to rise exponentially, here comes Mazda. The CX-5 is the brand’s best-selling model, and for 2027, the starting price remains unchanged.
The entry-level Mazda CX-5 2.5 S starts at $31,585 (all prices include the $1,595 destination charge, which is the same as last year). The crossover, redesigned for 2026, comes standard with 17-inch wheels, an eight-speaker stereo system, and a 12.9-inch infotainment display.
The rest of the lineup gets modest price increases. Under the hood is Mazda’s 187-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The biggest change for 2027 is the arrival of standard Google built-in technology with the Gemini AI assistant. The goal, Mazda says, is for drivers to be able to use the voice assistant while staying focused on the road.
Rumor has it that Mazda is also adding a hybrid to the CX-5, which should join the lineup later this year. It should have more power and better fuel economy, but we will learn more later.
