London ‘s Royal Academy of Arts is revisiting the Guggenheim Jeune gallery this fall with “Peggy Guggenheim in London : The Making of a Collector,” with support from Bottega Veneta .
In under a year, Guggenheim Jeune staged 20-plus exhibitions before closing in June 1939. Its program included Vasily Kandinsky’s first U.K. solo show, Britain’s first exhibition of collage and a sculpture presentation.

The show features works from the gallery’s original program, including pieces by Eileen Agar, Salvador Dalí, Barbara Hepworth, Rita Kernn-Larsen, Henry Moore, Piet Mondrian, Cedric Morris and Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Many are returning to London for the first time since their debut.
Bottega Veneta said the partnership reflects its roots in its hometown of Venice and commitment to craftsmanship, experimentation and creative freedom. It builds on the brand’s collaborations in Venice, Seoul and Bangkok.
The exhibition will run from Nov. 21 through March 14, then travel to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York in April.
