Zurich-based cleantech developer UniSieve has closed a $9 million Series A funding round, bringing its total raised capital to $25 million.
Led by the Orano Venture Fund (managed by Supernova Invest), the funding will accelerate commercial manufacturing and market deployment of the firm’s high-precision hybrid membranes.
UniSieve’s technology targets two primary pre-commercial verticals: heavy industrial olefin separation and point-source carbon capture.
Swiss deep-tech startup UniSieve AG has secured $9 million in Series A funding to scale its high-precision gas separation membrane technology across industrial chemical processing and point-source carbon capture applications.
The funding round was led by the Orano Venture Fund , managed by Supernova Invest , with participation from new and returning investors including Amadeus APEX Technology Fund , Founderful, Zürcher Kantonalbank, and Guenat Holding. The capital injection brings UniSieve’s total funding to $25 million to date.
UniSieve’s core technology utilizes a novel class of hybrid membranes, integrating advanced porous materials like metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and zeolites, to achieve molecular-level gas separation without relying on traditional energy-intensive thermal or cryogenic processes.
The company has transitioned its manufacturing process from pilot-scale validation to repeatable, pre-commercial production for deployable separation hardware.
The fresh capital will support UniSieve’s shift toward broader commercial deployment in two field-validated applications: olefin recovery and point-source industrial CO2 capture.
Energy Reduction: By replacing thermal distillation with heat-free, membrane-based separation, UniSieve aims to cut the substantial operational energy footprint associated with industrial gas processing.
Commercialization Pipeline: The Series A proceeds will fund manufacturing scaling and field trials with paying customers across chemical production facilities, gas suppliers, and heavy emission sources.
