Jackery just launched the Explorer 100D portable power station. This is Jackery’s smallest battery, giving a new level of versatility to power many of the devices people rely on most. Meanwhile, it integrates the durability and safety people expect from Jackery’s larger models into a compact case.
The Explorer 100D has a capacity of 96 Wh (30,000mAh) which puts it just below the carryon limit for domestic and international flights. Meanwhile, up to 158 W of output is more than enough to charge a laptop. The 100D is compatible with advanced protocols including AVS, PD 3.1 and PPS, providing precise charging, particularly for Apple products.
The Explorer 100D measures 4.6” X 3.4” X 3.4”(11.6 X 8.3 cm X 8.5 cm), or about the size of a softball. It weighs 1.87 lbs. (850 g). This is a bit larger than the typical power bank, but much smaller than the typical solar generator. It is also smaller and lighter than the Explorer 100 Plus that it replaces, while also increasing in power output.
On the test sample model, I found the form factor very convenient. It is not small enough to fit in your pants pocket, but the rectangular case with rounded corners was easy to fit in a backpack or carryon bag. A cloth handle makes it easy to hold, and a shoulder strap is available. I had a credentials lanyard from a previous media event on hand, and it worked fine as a strap for the lightweight battery.
On the front of the battery are two 140 W USB-C ports and an 18 W USB-A port.
