Business News Tech AI Poland to become second EU member of global healthcare AI network
Poland has announced its intent to join the HealthAI-led Global Regulatory Network, becoming just the second EU nation to do so after Portugal. This network includes numerous countries like Britain, India, and Brazil, which work together to ensure safe AI applications in healthcare. Members gain access to AI healthcare tools that have undergone regulatory review and benefit from a real-time system for reporting harmful incidents.
Poland on Thursday committed to join a HealthAI-led global network for governing the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare , as Europe rolls out new AI rules amid growing concerns over unpredictable AI behaviour. Poland would become the second European Union member state after Portugal to join the Global Regulatory Network (GRN), whose members also include Britain, India, Brazil, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Zambia and Peru. GRN members have access to AI healthcare tools reviewed by regulators, as well as a real-time warning system for sharing reports of harmful incidents.
"There is no fixed timeline for Poland's potential accession," a HealthAI spokesperson said, adding that the agreement establishes a one-year cooperation framework.
