Apple has introduced a new brand identity for Apple Music, featuring visuals inspired by sound waves, physical vibrations and glass-like effects. The redesign follows the introduction of an updated logo and app icon earlier this month.
The company has also developed a new audio signature for the music streaming service, which will be used across its marketing, original content, events and product experiences.
In a video shared on YouTube, Apple explained that the new identity was built around the idea of being “made by sound”. The company worked with music producer Fred again.. and his collaborator NEST Acoustics to turn music into physical movements and visual patterns.
Apple Music announced the refreshed branding on X, saying, “Introducing a new identity for Apple Music, physically shaped by an original composition from @fredagainagain1 and NEST Acoustics.”

Rather than starting with digital graphics, the team experimented with sound vibrations to create the visuals. Musical notes were played through a transducer, a device that converts audio signals into physical vibrations, placed in a shallow bath of mineral oil.
This produced ripples and waves, along with light effects, which were filmed and used to develop the new logo and other brand visuals. Apple said the process involved months of experimentation and collaboration.
The updated identity also draws inspiration from Apple's Liquid Glass design language, introduced across its software platforms last year. The design combines the movement of sound waves with glass-like visual effects to give Apple Music a distinct appearance.
