The monthly “ Google System Release Notes ” primarily detail what’s new in Play services, Play Store, and Play system update across Android phones/tablets, Wear OS, Google/Android TV, Auto, and PC. Some features apply to end users, while others are aimed at developers.

Android AICore: Search the “All apps” list in Settings and open App info for the version number

To update, open the Settings app > tap your name at the very top for “Google services” (on Pixel) > All services tab > Privacy & security > System services.

A feature appearing in the changelog does not mean it’s widely available. Some capabilities take months to fully launch.

[Phone] You can now access the Android Family Hub, a dedicated space for family management tools in Android Settings.

[Phone] New developer features for Google and third party app developers to support Location & Context related processes in their apps.

[Auto, Phone, TV] This update adds more quality logs for device connectivity.

[PC, Phone] Automatic backing up photos/videos from an Android to Windows using Quick Share feature.

[Phone] Google Password Manager now allows you to manually choose which credentials to keep when importing conflicting passwords and passkeys.

[Auto, Phone] Updates to system management services that improve Battery Life, Device Connectivity, Device Performance, Privacy, Security, Stability, and Updatability.

[PC, Phone] With this update, you’ll get a reminder if Play Protect stays off for a while.
