Clinical research data platform provider nPhase, Inc., announced the closing of a $30M Series D financing round led by Viking Global Investors .
The equity financing represents nPhase’s first institutional equity capital raise since 2017, underscoring nearly a decade of disciplined capital self-sufficiency and operational growth.
The capital injection will accelerate the global expansion of the enterprise nPhase.ai clinical data platform, which unifies a Unified Data Management System (UDMS) and a Statistical Computing Environment (SCE) across the drug development lifecycle.
The platform addresses a fundamental technological barrier facing federal initiatives such as ARPA-H’s SURPASS program under HHS’s “Operation TrialBlazer,” which envisions continuous, adaptive clinical trials but contends with an industry constrained by fragmented, batch-processed data.
At the core of nPhase’s technology stack is nPhase.ai, an enterprise platform that unifies a Unified Data Management System (UDMS) with an advanced Statistical Computing Environment (SCE). By bridging electronic data capture (EDC)—including its widely utilized REDCap Cloud ecosystem for academic, nonprofit, and mid-market studies—with regulatory biostatistical analysis, the platform creates an unbroken, audited pipeline from patient encounter to electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) submission:
Continuous Ingestion Across All Modalities: Aggregates raw trial data continuously from investigator sites, central laboratories, patient apps, and remote biosensors as it is generated, preventing the multi-month backlog typical of end-of-study data cleanups.
Stream-Based Harmonization: Replaces retrospective batch transformations by standardizing, cleansing, and validating clinical variables in near real time. Safety monitoring committees and clinical study directors can track adverse event clustering, signal detection, and protocol deviations instantaneously.
ai SCE, the system automatically translates raw, standardized clinical data into regulatory-ready analysis data models (CDISC ADaM) and formal statistical tables, figures, and listings (TFLs), compressing workflows that historically required four or more months down to a few weeks.
