With September coming to an end, and many PlayStation Plus subscribers likely having seen all there is to see from games like Sniper Elite: Resistance and Wobbly Life, attention will naturally be turning to October 2026 and its game lineup. And while there’s no telling what surprises Sony could have in store for the PS Plus user base, there are a handful of titles that are worth hoping for.

While it’s impossible to consistently predict any month’s games, as some titles feel chosen at random based on behind-the-scenes publisher partnerships, there are a few reliable patterns that can make a wish list feel grounded in reality. Usually, when crafting monthly PlayStation Plus lineups, Sony makes sure that the Essential titles don’t overlap in their genres. Additionally, PS Plus drops can be used to promote new releases in the same franchise or capitalize on the success of external media. The following PS Plus wish list candidates would follow these patterns, as Sony could hype up an upcoming 2026 release, build off of a hit film’s hype, and work alongside a publisher for a mutually beneficial deal.

PlayStation Extra’s September lineup wrapped up on September 22, so those who subscribe to the service’s mid-level tier will be looking forward to their next set of offerings as well.

PlayStation Plus subscribers should brace themselves, as the subscription service is set to lose some of its best titles soon.

While Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated video game ever made as is, it wouldn’t hurt for PlayStation to double down on the association between this series and the PS5.
