Whence the Weeping is one of the first main story quests players receive after starting their journey in Phantom Blade Zero. While the objective requires you to investigate the source of the weeping, the quest marker doesn't pinpoint an exact location, making it easy to get stuck. To make things easier, here's how to find the source of the weeping in Phantom Blade Zero and complete the Whence the Weeping quest.
Players will add "Whence the Weeping" to their quest log right after Soul arrives in the Weeping Creek Valley and hears a faint sound of someone crying in the distance. Players might spend some hours looking around the different areas of the first region, but they won't find a way to complete the quest.
This is because, despite unlocking the quest early, it's actually a late-game quest that will progress once players near the end of the game's story. If you don't want spoilers, I'd suggest skipping the next section. If you're already in the late game and wondering how to complete Whence the Weeping, check out the section ahead.
Once players reach the end of the Pangzhen region, they'll have already obtained a few pieces of the pipa as part of the Illusory Pipa quest. In case you need a refresher, here's where players can find all the pieces required to craft the Illusory Pipa Phantom Edge in Phantom Blade Zero.
Secret Boss of the Village of Lu region (You'll need to collect six memory flowers marked on the map)
