How to Beat the Gold-Masked One in Phantom Blade Zero

The Gold-Masked One is one of the toughest bosses in Phantom Blade Zero that players will come across by entering the Long Pillars, which are part of the "Bloodline Awakening" quest. Players will come across the first of the five Long Pillars in the first region, the Weeping Creek Valley. While defeating this boss is optional, it's highly recommended to complete the boss fight if you're aiming to get the secret Perfect ending for Phantom Blade Zero.

To start the boss fight with the Gold-Masked One in Phantom Blade Zero, you'll first need to enter the locked area beside the Sha-Chi Tower by finding the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate key, part of the Deep in the Valley quest.

Once you're in the area, pick up the Rusted Loong Key near the Long Pillar Overlook crane bell, and use it on the door I've marked above.

Opening the locked door using the Rusted Loong Key takes you inside the caverns. Keep following the path until you end up at the Long Pillar that you can interact with to start the Bloodline Awakening quest and fight the Gold-Masked One boss.

The Gold-Masked One in Phantom Blade Zero isn't a conventional boss, since it functions as a brutal tutorial designed to master your defensive timing.

The boss is entirely immune to standard damage until you completely deplete his Sha-Chi gauge . To do that, you must aggressively counter his color-coded attacks : execute a parry whenever his attack flashes blue, and land a perfect dodge when his attack flashes red.
