Nintendo Highlights 7 Switch 2 Exclusive Games Coming Soon

Nintendo has highlighted seven exclusive, first-party games coming to the Switch 2, with two releasing before the year is out and five more coming in 2027. While the Switch 2 has enjoyed incredible third-party support since its release in 2025, its first-party releases are what really sell people on the console. Nintendo released the Switch 2 with Mario Kart World as a launch title, and has since followed it up with other must-have exclusives like Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokemon Pokopia.

More recently, Nintendo released Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave to strong reviews, as well as Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, solidifying the game as the highest-rated Switch 2 exclusive release to date. The OoT remake is a system-seller for sure, and so new Switch 2 owners may be wondering what's next for the console. Luckily, Nintendo recently released an updated list of first-party exclusives that are coming to the home console/handheld hybrid.

Nintendo's physical Switch 2 game production has been dealt a major blow, bringing the end to an era that has lasted since the N64.

Closing out 2026 for the Switch 2 are Pikmin 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy on November 12 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on December 3. Metroid Ravenous will kick off the Switch 2 exclusive releases for 2027, with it eyeing a January 28 release date. A month later, on February 25, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - Definitive Edition will drop on the Switch 2.
