New Steam Co-Op Game Blends COD Zombies With Minecraft

A new Steam co-op game, Mortuus, takes the best of Call of Duty Zombies and Minecraft, blending them into a truly unique experience. Fans of both games will find plenty to enjoy in this new Steam game, which has a free demo that gamers can download and play right now.

Mortuus comes from developer Hamuno, which has already released three games on Steam: Hamster Hunter, Hamster Hunter: Rodent Rampage, and Free For Fall. All three titles have positive reviews on the platform. While the Hamster Hunter games are shooter-focused, Free For Fall is more of a co-op experience, making Mortuus a combination of the developer's previous efforts.

A new Steam Metroidvania blends God of War-style combat with Metroid Prime exploration, and its free demo already feels remarkably polished.

Mortuus is an upcoming round-based zombie FPS game for 1 to 4 players. Players must survive hordes of zombies, racking up points they can spend to unlock new areas of the map, get new weapons from the mystery box, and upgrade weapons at the Gun Ascension altar. With all of this, it's clear why the game draws comparisons to Call of Duty's Zombies mode. It also features special enemies and boss fights, adding more variety to each run. And while the gameplay might evoke COD Zombies, Mortuus' visuals are much more Minecraft, with a blocky aesthetic that still feels unique.

Its defining feature is its procedural level generation. The developer says that "rooms, corridors, courtyards, and dead ends are rebuilt each time," and with different weather patterns and times of day, every single run of the game feels different.
