METRO Redux Next-Gen Update Out Now for XBOX Series X|S

The METRO Redux Next-Gen Update is out now on XBOX Series X|S consoles. Right now, you can experience both METRO 2033 & Last Light Redux with an unprecedented degree of immersion, thanks to performance improvements, enhanced visuals, and control upgrades that combine to take full advantage of the latest XBOX hardware.

First, the Next-Gen Update transforms the experience of playing both games through a series of major performance improvements. Once you’ve downloaded and applied the free update, you’ll be able to experience both titles in either true 4K resolution at 60fps or upscaled 4K at an even smoother 120fps. 4A TSR Upscaling and Antialiasing support will give players an even sharper, high fidelity experience.

Additionally, XBOX Ally and Ally X owners can look forward to full support and optimisation, plus the addition of XBOX Play Anywhere means fand and newcomers alike can truly experience the immersive world of METRO wherever they are.

As significant as these improvements are by themselves, there’s more to the update’s visual overhaul than enhanced framerates and sharper detailing. Alongside these core performance upgrades, the update dramatically modernises both titles with the introduction of more detailed textures, a refined lighting and shadow system that impacts every corridor and corner of each world, richer environmental detail, and enhanced animation fidelity.

Beyond these visual upgrades, the developers at 4A Games have also deepened the immersive quality of both titles by taking advantage of the latest XBOX controller hardware. With the Next-Gen Update, METRO players will experience full support for the XBOX controller’s Impulse Triggers, ratcheting up the tension through tactile feedback.
