The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 is in stock at Amazon right now, giving buyers another chance to order the limited-edition console if they missed the chance to pre-order it. That opportunity may be brief, as the new Switch 2 model has repeatedly disappeared from retailers and Nintendo's own U.S. store is already sold out.
Nintendo announced the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 in September, setting an October 29 release date and a $519.99 launch price in the United States. In other words, the themed model costs $20 more than the standard version of the console. A matching Pro Controller and carrying case accessories are launching alongside the device, but are sold separately.
As of October 29, the official Amazon listing for the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 is still accepting orders, but availability may not last. Amazon's earlier October preorder windows repeatedly opened and closed within minutes, while Nintendo's U.S. store currently lists the $519.99 system as sold out. The matching Zelda Pro Controller and carrying case are unavailable there as well. Scarcity has affected other retailers, with some Walmart customers reporting that their Zelda Switch 2 preorders were canceled just before launch due to stock shortages, forcing them to seek alternatives on release day.
A dark detective thriller where folklore is real, violence is chilling, and every choice has consequences.
