A new report suggests that fan theories about the actual title of The Elder Scrolls 6 may be true after all, and that confirmation may be coming as soon as next month.
This comes from The Verge, which has sources telling it that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be subtitled “Sentinel,” something that fans had already been guessing at earlier this year. The report claims that an official announcement of this name could “come as soon as next month,” a whopping 15 years after the release of the last mainline TES entry, Skyrim, and nearly eight years after the game was announced at E3 2018.
This would not just coincide with fan speculation, but also with Xbox head Asha Sharma’s tease from back in August that the title contained eight letters:
Live playthrough of The Elder Scrolls VI: ******** this morning. The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even greater.
The Verge goes on to corroborate reports and rumors that as with previous TES games, Sentinel will spotlight one specific region of Tamriel. This time, it’s the region of Hammerfell, which has shown up in other TES spinoffs but has never had its own game. Sentinel will reportedly cover the “history of the Elder Scrolls” and “help uncover the secrets of these mysterious ancient artifacts.”
After the absurdly early initial announcement of its highly, highly -anticipated game, Bethesda has largely fallen silent on The Elder Scrolls 6 , so an imminent re-reveal would be huge. Bethesda head Todd Howard has talked vaguely around the game on numerous occasions, but always stopped short of giving meaty details.
