Netflix is wrapping up the summer with the Jaws movies, the Resident Evil flicks, and both Alien and Aliens while also getting into the back-to-school spirit with a revival of '80s/'90s Cosby Show spin-off, A Different World.

You can also catch some great spookies with Ready or Not, Smile 2, Oculus, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot from 2003. Plus, there's solid gold cinema like Phantom Thread, About Time, Knocked Up, Liar Liar, Dragnet, and Cruel Intentions! There's also new sophomore seasons of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen (which was already picked up for a third season) and Stranger Things: Tales From '85.

2022's Smile was a serviceable slice of spooky for sure, but Smile 2 is a horror masterclass in crafting a much much better sequel, thanks in no small part to Naomi Scott's superb performance as a spread-too-thin pop star trying to make a comeback after a personal tragedy. Writer/director Parker Finn takes the fiendishly fun idea from his first flick and blows it up in bold, beautiful ways.

, an adult animated comedy starring Law, Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), and Poppy Liu (Hacks) about a brother and sister whose fun lives in New York City get ruined when their high-achieving older sister shows up and wants to hang out.
