All August 2026 Free Games You Can Claim

Updated on August 29, 2026, by Mark Sammut: The month is almost over, so I've given this article one final update. Please note that the Free Games blurb will continue to be updated long after August ends, so you can still use that to claim any current free games.

As August 2026's free games gradually come to a close, we can say that the month has delivered plenty of exciting giveaways. Steam, Epic Games Store, Amazon Prime Gaming (aka Amazon Luna), Itch.io, Indiegala, etc. have handed out free PC games over the last few months, covering everything from quirky indie horror titles to fairly big names like We Were Here Together and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. If you picked up everything, your library should have increased by at least 20 new titles.

Console users didn't really receive any free games in August, but they arguably had even more reason to celebrate than their PC counterparts. Xbox Game Pass users got Day One access to Beast of Reincarnation and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, while PS Plus subscribers got to play Helldivers 2, Hell is Us, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Vampire Survivors. Pretty cool stuff all-around.
