He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction has been formally confirmed for release on February 4, 2027. This move marks the third official release window for Dragon Pearl of Destruction, which has so far suffered from two delays.
Created by Bitmap Bureau, the British developer behind Terminator 2D: No Fate, Dragon Pearl of Destruction is a retro 2D beat-'em-up inspired by the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series from the 1980s. It promises nostalgic pixel art visuals, multiple playable Eternian heroes, and support for both solo and two-player couch co-op.
Mattel Game Studios and its partner officially reveal Masters of the Universe: Battle for Grayskull.
On October 12, the retro beat-'em-up received a new release date of February 4, 2027. The date replaces the broader "early 2027" window announced in August, which itself followed a delay revealed after it became clear that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction would miss its late April 2026 release date just two weeks before the deadline.
Standard contents, collector's packaging, SteelCase, pins, mini Power Sword, acrylic standee, and comic
Physical editions of Dragon Pearl of Destruction are being sold on a made-to-order basis and will only be available to customers who place a pre-order with LRG by November 22, 2026.
Dragon Pearl of Destruction will launch simultaneously on the PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Retro game publisher Limited Run Games will also distribute a physical release, though it will be limited to the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch versions.
