Black Clover Creator Tabata Makes New Couple Officially Canon

Traditional shonen stories often push romance aside and focus on enthralling battles instead. Despite that, couples are often formed at the end of most big series, and Black Clover, in that regard, is no exception. Black Clover's manga recently concluded on May 1, 2026. In the final chapter, we saw the formation of a multitude of couples, some already married, while others were just getting together.

The most important official couple we saw in Black Clover at the end was that of Yami and Charlotte, whose romance was also highlighted throughout the series. As confirmed by Yuki Tabata, their love has flourished, and the author has given them the best conclusion he could in the short time he had. Their romance also came at the perfect time to make us overlook the biggest love flop in the series. At the end of the story, fans wanted Asta and Noelle to get together, but that never happened. The battle for Asta’s heart still rages on, but it’s unlikely to ever be canonically resolved.

Black Clover has become quite a popular series, more so than ever following its conclusion in May 2026. The series began its run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, initially in February 2015 in the 12th Issue of the year. Immediately after, Black Clover went on to quickly gain traction, especially after it received an anime adaptation that started in 2017 by Studio Pierrot. What especially stood out to many fans of the Black Clover series was its action and magic, but the brilliant characters can't be understated.
