Uncapped, a provider of funding to e-commerce businesses, has selected AiPrise as its partner for KYB checks in the US, with lien checks included.
Under the arrangement, AiPrise now handles Uncapped’s US KYB process. This covers confirming that a company exists, checking its standing, identifying who owns and controls it, and establishing whether its assets have already been pledged as security to a different lender.
Due diligence of this kind sits at the start of any lending decision, since a lender must know precisely which business it is financing before releasing capital. In the US, that task is complicated by fragmentation. Corporate records are held across 50 separate state registries, and lien filings are kept apart from them, so assembling a full profile manually is a time-consuming process.
AiPrise checks businesses directly against primary sources in more than 200 countries, using over 100 data sources, and also identifies and screens the individuals who own each entity. For Uncapped, this brings US business verification and lien checks together on a single platform through one integration. As a result, every funding decision the lender makes begins from a consistent, verified view of the applicant.
The partnership reflects a tension central to e-commerce lending. Online merchants want access to capital on their own schedule, while lenders require confidence in a borrower before money is released.
Uncapped aims to deliver funding at a pace that matches the businesses it supports, and thorough verification of each applicant forms part of how it achieves that.
AiPrise said it was pleased to act as the partner supporting that effort.
