Natural Launches Direct, Bringing ACH, Wire, and Realtime Payments to AI Agents

Natural, the company building the foundational financial stack for AI agents, announced the general availability of Direct. With Direct, AI agents can choose the payment rail for each payment they send: ACH, wire, or realtime payments over RTP and FedNow. Mailed paper checks, international wires, and more are coming soon.

With Direct, a business’s agents can pay vendors, contractors, and other counterparties from the same Natural wallet they already use to send money, request money, issue cards, and accept cards at checkout. The agent picks the rail at the moment it pays based on the recipient, how fast the money needs to arrive, and what it should cost. All the controls and limits the business has already set in Natural still apply.

In today’s economy, money still largely moves over rails designed for human actors, each with its own cost, speed, and rules. Vendor invoices and payroll get sent via ACH. A real estate closing goes out by wire. A payment that has to land quickly typically goes out over RTP or FedNow. A supplier who only shares a name and a mailing address still gets a check. Agents handling procurement, logistics, property management, or accounts payable run into all of these in a single day’s work.

Until now, that choice has been made for the agent, by a person or by a router configured in advance. Direct makes it a decision the agent can make on its own at runtime.
