AML Analytics has secured a significant growth investment from Covalent Equity Partners, a private equity firm built to scale leading technology platforms in the AI era. The deal comes as AI-driven finance expands the openings available to criminals.
The size of the investment was not disclosed. Covalent will provide capital and operational support, which AMLA plans to use to speed up its engineering roadmap, roll out new testing engines and grow its presence in more markets. Justin Holder, who founded the business, will stay on as group CEO and will continue to run the company with its current leadership team.
According to AMLA, autonomous agentic finance and generative technologies are expanding the ways illicit funds can move through the financial system. The company positions its reference datasets and independent benchmarks as a core safeguard for market integrity as these threats grow.
Established in 2010, AMLA works with more than 50 supervisory authorities and upwards of 1,450 financial institutions in close to 60 countries. Over that time it has independently assessed thousands of financial crime systems and architectures. Its platform gives regulators and banks evidence-based data they can use to measure, calibrate and confirm how well their anti-money laundering (AML) systems perform.
AML Analytics founder and group CEO Justin Holder said, “From day one, our mission has been to give the defenders of the financial system the empirical tools to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated threats.
