Bdeo deploys Vonage API to speed up AI claims

Madrid-based InsurTech Bdeo has taken Vonage’s Quality on Demand (QoD) Network API into full commercial production, marking one of the technology’s earliest enterprise deployments worldwide.

The deployment combines Vonage’s QoD, Video and Messages APIs to streamline insurance claims and underwriting. Policyholders receive a link via RCS or SMS to capture damage through photos or video, helping insurers collect initial evidence more quickly. Live video sessions can then connect claimants with loss adjusters for remote assessments, reducing the need for physical inspections and potentially shortening claims cycles.

QoD operates in the background, monitoring network conditions and prioritising connectivity when video quality falls below the required level. This helps maintain reliable footage without requiring action from insurers or policyholders, including when damage is recorded at accident scenes or in areas with heavy traffic.

Improved video quality also gives Bdeo’s AI models clearer images to analyse, supporting more accurate damage assessments and reducing the number of claims requiring manual review. More consistent visual evidence can also strengthen audit trails and help insurers meet documentation and compliance requirements.

Founded in 2017, Bdeo uses AI-powered visual intelligence to help insurers automate claims and underwriting processes. The company works with more than 50 insurers across over 25 countries in Europe and Latin America. It also serves eight of Spain’s 10 largest motor insurers and handles more than half of motor insurance underwriting in the Spanish market.

Vonage, an Ericsson subsidiary, provides communications and network APIs alongside communications platform as a service (CPaaS), contact centre as a service (CCaaS) and unified communications as a service (UCaaS) products.
