Zeekr files for updated 001, paving way for Q1 2027 launch

Geely Auto's (HKEX: 0175) premium brand Zeekr has filed for regulatory approval for an updated Zeekr 001, moving closer to its planned launch in the first quarter of 2027.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) included the updated Zeekr 001, an all-electric sedan, in its 413th catalog of vehicle models released for public comment on Tuesday. The comment period runs from November 4 to November 10.

The model is powered by a rear motor, designated TZ230XYC04, with a maximum output of 370 kW (496 hp).

It has a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph) or 280 km/h. It uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with cells supplied by Geely's Energee.

The filing provides no further battery details, though the updated Zeekr 001 is expected to feature Geely Smart Charging technology for faster charging.

Geely unveiled the technology in September, saying tests showed that the Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 equipped with the Shendun Golden Battery could charge from 10% to 70% in 4 minutes and 30 seconds, and from 10% to 97% in 8 minutes and 40 seconds.

The current Zeekr 001 went on sale on October 11, 2025, with an official starting price of 269,800 yuan ($40,160). It can charge from 10% to 80% in 7 minutes.

The updated Zeekr 001 measures 4,977 mm or 5,029 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,545 mm or 1,533 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm. Its curb weight is 2,350 kg or 2,420 kg.
