Blue Energy Motors joins PARIVARTAN scheme for electric truck adoption

Blue Energy Motors (BEM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) under the Government of India’s PARIVARTAN Scheme to support the replacement of ageing commercial vehicles with cleaner alternatives across the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).

Announced on 22 October 2026, the initiative aims to reduce transport-related pollution and improve air quality by encouraging the replacement of older, high-emission trucks and buses. Blue Energy Motors will support the wider adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks for freight and logistics operations through its participation in the scheme.

The initiative brings together government policy support and commercial vehicle technology to encourage fleet operators to transition towards zero-emission freight transport.

The PARIVARTAN Scheme focuses on replacing older commercial vehicles with cleaner alternatives across the Delhi NCR. By incentivising the transition, the initiative seeks to address emissions from road transport and encourage the adoption of vehicles with lower environmental impact.

For Blue Energy Motors, participation in the programme provides an opportunity to promote electric heavy-duty trucks among fleet operators and support the shift towards cleaner freight mobility.

Anirudh Bhuwalka, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Energy Motors, said the scheme could help accelerate the adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks through policy support, technology and domestic manufacturing capabilities.

He added that the company’s participation reflects its commitment to the government’s sustainable transportation objectives and the transition towards zero-emission freight operations.

Blue Energy Motors manufactures electric and liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered heavy-duty trucks. According to the company, more than 1,400 of its green heavy-duty trucks are operating across key freight routes in India.
