Castagna Milano has published illustrations of a swanky convertible based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio, and it will build it for a customer who is willing to pay.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is still among the most beautiful cars available. Despite being on the market mostly unchanged since the 2016 model year, the Italian sports sedan’s styling has aged remarkably well, its smooth curves and piercing headlights creating a timeless elegance. But Italian coachbuilder Castagna Milano thinks it can improve on the Alfa Romeo’s look, whipping up a design for a new two-door convertible based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
The assertively styled convertible is only a render for now, but Castagna Milano says that it wants to turn it into a one-off creation if it can find an Alfa Romeo enthusiast who is willing to pay. And while the hard edges and crisp lines are quite a departure from the typical Alfa Romeo finesse, the two-door is striking enough that we think someone will raise their hand.
The car shares essentially nothing with the regular Giulia sedan, the only visual connection being the classic triangular Alfa Romeo grille, although it appears to be narrower here, and is attached to a carbon-fiber panel that stretches up and over the hood. The grille is flanked by dramatic headlights, consisting of a series of horizontal LED lines and a trio of LED fangs that shoot downward. The lights sit within a recessed section covered in vents to help cool the engine and front brakes.
