Rising stars in business, entertainment, sports, politics, advocacy and leadership celebrated this year's honorees in Chelsea.
Rising stars shaping the future of culture, innovation and advocacy gathered on Thursday at Chelsea Piers for the Time100 Next Gala in partnership with Rolex, Toyota and Target. Guests including Raye, Troye Sivan, Druski, Sarah Pidgeon, Joey King, Alex Warren, Gabriela Hearst, Tyrese Maxey, Ashley Padilla, Himesh Patel, Megan Moroney and Yerin Ha were in attendance to celebrate the honorees. It was the sixth iteration of the gala honoring individuals in business, entertainment, sports, politics and more that are defining the next generation. Having just released his fourth studio album, “She’s the Best,” Sivan was being honored for the evening as an advocate. When asked if he believed in finding love on the dance floor, the singer said “Oh my god! 100 percent. ” His advice? “Dance and be free. And be friendly. I think everyone’s there to connect,” he shared. “You know what I mean? ” The “Practical Magic 2” star described the film as not quite sci-fi, but also a comedy. “Our trade announcement just came out. I couldn’t be more thrilled,” King said. “And I hope that this is the path to getting the film made soon because LaKeith is such an amazing partner. ” Dinner began with a soulful performance of “Cry Me a River” by Grammy Award-winning singer Raye. She was jokingly “out of breath” upon coming to the stage and started the set seated on ground. “I just think having so many different people who are so hopeful about the future in one room and who share that point of view, but from so many different angles, has been very inspiring,” Pidgeon said.
