Sperry is continuing its partnership with New York City retailer Colbo with the release of a new shoe silhouette.
Called the Sirah loafer, the hybrid shape sits at the intersection of a ballet flat and a vintage suiting shoe. The low-slung silhouette is meant to slip on for a relaxed feel while retaining the clean lines of a classic dress shoe, Sperry noted.
Offered in “Black” and “Earth” colorways, the Sperry x Colbo Sirah Loafer is crafted in premium leather, with each version designed to develop character and a natural patina with every wear.
The “Black” colorway marks Colbo’s first product in a true black hue, with the brand typically steering away from the color in its overall offering. Meanwhile, the “Earth” colorway features a soft nubuck upper with natural contrast stitching.
What’s more, the shoe’s foundation includes Sperry’s classic Cloud construction paired with a cushioned comfort insole. And a new outsole pattern developed exclusively for Colbo includes Sperry’s signature Wave-Siping technology for traction.
Tal Silberstein, co-founder and designer of Colbo, said in a statement that while the Sirah is his fourth release with Sperry, this one feels the “most personal.”
“It’s a brand-new silhouette, a slip-on that feels elegant but easy, made from the most premium leather and nubuck we could get our hands on,” Silberstein noted. “It’s called Sirah as a small nod to my heritage, holding true meaning, mystery, and elegance in the name.”
Jonathan Frankel , president of Sperry licensee Aldo Product Services, added that the new shoe reflects what the two companies do best — “creating footwear that feels thoughtful and considered without trying too hard.”
