Sarah Pidgeon revived her minimalist Carolyn Bessette Kennedy style streak with a suited moment courtesy of Givenchy by Sarah Burton at the Time100 Next Gala held at Chelsea Piers on Thursday night in New York City.
The Emmy Award-nominated “Love Story” actress turned to the spring 2027 collection for her red carpet look. Pidgeon’s suited look was cast in a monochrome dark color and comprised of a single-breasted, long-sleeve jacket with coordinated high-waist trousers.
The ensemble included the faintest pinstripe motif throughout, with a tied bow at the high collar of the suit jacket. Pidgeon opted to go sans top with her jacket, elevating the ensemble for a slight take on the office siren trend from 2024.
Styled by Emma Jade Morrison, who also works with Kaia Gerber and Jodie Comer, Pidgeon’s French luxury fashion house look nodded ever-so-slightly to the minimalism that defined Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s style in the ’90s, the character Pidgeon famously played in the FX miniseries “Love Story.”
“First off, Carolyn was very poised, very beautiful. She had great personal style. She really stood out. Her personality was incredible. She really had that magic. When she entered a room, everyone turned, not just because of her beauty or her style — she had great personality and magnetism,” fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez, one of Bessette Kennedy’s favorites, told WWD.
“It’s definitely in the moment, but I’ve seen it for years,” the designer said, referencing the staying power of minimalist styling frequently associated with Bessette Kennedy.
