Mckenna Grace just took method dressing to a new level. The actress wore a recreation of one of Jennifer Lawrence‘s gowns from the film “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” on Tuesday night for the “Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style and Power of Panem” exhibition at Musee Rodin in Paris on Tuesday night.
The actress turned to designer Monique Lhuillier for the recreated gown, which referenced Katniss Everdeen’s wedding dress, created by costume designer Trish Summerville in collaboration with Tex Saverio, in the 2013 film, an adaptation of the young adult book series of the same name by Suzanne Collins.
The white gown featured a bevy of tiered tulle fabric, with a large skirt that created plenty of volume for the “Hunger Games” event. The bodice of the dress, to contrast the skirt, was fitted, though instead of tulle, it featured embellishments that created a textural bent to the overall look.
The finishing touch was, of course, the shimmering silver appliqué, whose intersecting lines evoked wings and created a cage-like, spindly effect that appeared to defy gravity. Featured on the bodice of the dress, both front and back, the glittering element elevated the look and gave the white dress that extra costume quality to wholly render the memorable dress from the film.
As for accessories, Grace complemented the glittering embellishments on her dress with a pair of earrings by Messika. Her hair was styled by Glen “Coco” Oropeza, with makeup by artist Allan Avendaño. Grace’s look was curated by stylist Molly Dickson.
