Catherine Zeta-Jones paired sheer chiffon with shimmering beadwork in a Zuhair Murad gown with a matching sheer cape for the London premiere of “Kill Jackie” at Curzon Bloomsbury on Thursday night.

The Oscar-winning actress, who turned 57 years old on Friday, gave a styling lesson in how to artfully style sheer pieces. The actress wore a dress from the Lebanese designer’s resort 2027 collection, a pale lilac strapless dress with sheer chiffon fabric encrusted with a bevy of shimmering bugle beads. The embellishments were concentrated through the bodice and hips, thinning out along the skirt to reveal more of the sheer fabric underneath.

Sequins and small gemstones trimmed the sweetheart neckline of the dress, which was paired with a sheer cape that cascaded down Zeta-Jones’ shoulders and added an extra layer to her red carpet ensemble.

With the dress already providing a healthy dose of sparkle, Zeta-Jones opted to go minimalist with her jewelry and accessories. She wore her dark hair styled in soft waves and makeup including smoky eyes and a glossy lip.

The dress was a refined variation on sheer dressing from women over 50, a stark contrast to the boudoir-inspired sheer looks that have recently been sported by the likes of Dakota Johnson and Daisy Edgar-Jones , both of whom have worn sheer dresses with visible lingerie, including pieces by Shushu Tong, Colleen Allen and Fleur du Mal.
