Chinese solar cell manufacturer Yingfa Ruineng has unveiled a 7.5 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Indonesia. The facility, presented at technology launch event hosted by Yingfa Ruineng’s subsidiary BCI, will produce n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cells.
A statement released by Yingfa Ruineng explains the facility is intended to serve as a regional supply hub for Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other international markets.
The company adds it will also support Indonesia’s 100 GW solar power program alongside the country’s efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing and local content.
“For project developers, contractors and module manufacturers, local cell production can offer shorter supply routes, closer technical coordination and greater flexibility in supply planning,” the statement explains. “BCI’s local capabilities are also intended to help Indonesian module manufacturers address [Indonesia’s official local content requirement] TKDN, subject to relevant product certification and regulatory requirements.”
The facility is Yingfa Ruineng’s first overseas manufacturing base, adding to its three in China. Together, the four bases have a combined effective capacity of 51.5 GW, according to figures released by the company, including 45.5 GW of n-type TOPCon capacity.
The launch event also highlighted Yingfa Ruineng’s half-cell passivation, multi-cut cell designs and back-contact (BC) solar cells. The company says it is advancing both its TOPCon and BC platforms and claims to have also completed an initial end-to-end fabrication process for perovskite/BC tandem solar modules.
Yingfa Ruineng ranked second for global solar cell shipments in the first half of 2026, according to PV industry research firm InfoLink, behind only Tongwei.
