Waaree doubles Texas solar module manufacturing capacity to 3.2 GW

Waaree Solar Americas Inc. (WSA), a wholly owned subsidiary of India’s Waaree Energies Ltd., has started commercial production on two new solar module manufacturing lines at its facility in Brookshire, Texas.

Each line has an annual production capacity of 800 MW, bringing the facility’s total installed module manufacturing capacity to 3.2 GW.

The expansion forms part of Waaree’s broader manufacturing plans in the United States. WSA is also expanding its Arizona module manufacturing facility from 1 GW to 1.6 GW, which is expected to bring the company’s total US module manufacturing capacity to 4.8 GW in fiscal 2027, which in India runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.. Waaree’s global module order book exceeds 25 GW.

Commercial production on the new lines began on Oct. 29, 2026, following an expansion approved by Waaree Energies’ board of directors in April 2025. The additional capacity doubles the Brookshire facility’s manufacturing capacity and strengthens WSA’s ability to supply US solar developers, utilities and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors with domestically manufactured modules, according to the company.

Waaree said the expansion comes amid changes in US trade policy, including measures under Section 232, that are affecting the economics of imported solar modules. The company said its investments in domestic manufacturing are intended to strengthen its position in the US market.

32 billion a year earlier. 8% of the company’s INR 592 billion order book, up from approximately 36% at the end of the preceding quarter.
