Terradot has secured $34 million in debt financing for its enhanced rock weathering (ERW) projects in the United States and Brazil, provided by HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (HASI).
This financial boost will support Terradot’s existing network of ERW projects, which have attracted fixed-price, multi-year offtake agreements with the Frontier advance market coalition, comprised of members Google, Salesforce, JPMorgan, Shopify, and Stripe, among others.
HASI’s transaction is arranged through Marsh, and the investment is also supported by carbon delivery insurance from CFC.
Commenting on this major update, Terradot CFO and Co-Founcer Julia Sekula highlighted that lenders only back what they can predict.
“With contracted demand and years of field data that let us bound risks and forecast delivery, this investment marks an important step in bringing project capital to enhanced rock weathering and building the operating record for larger deployments,” she added.
In the past few years, Terradot has positioned itself among the frontrunners in enhanced rock weathering, deploying projects in both the U.S. and Brazil, and securing strategic partnerships and agreements that deliver benefits for the company, local communities, and the ERW sector as a whole.
Partnering with Microsoft, Terradot is working on validating ERW at a cutting-edge soil-to-stream research site in Brazil called Sentinel, where it tracks the CO2 retention along all the ERW stages through a comprehensive monitoring network.
This year, Terradot expanded its market presence by acquiring Eion, uniting the two brands to create a new globally leading ERW platform. In 2026 and 2027, the company is scheduled to deploy 1 million tonnes of crushed rock across a territory of 60,000 hectares (150,000 acres) of farmland in the US and Brazil.
